Why this site shows you sample data instead of fake testimonials

The standard playbook for a new platform looks like this: launch with a wall of logos, a carousel of glowing quotes, and a line like "trusted by 200+ organizers". We just launched Skrammm. We do not have 200 organizers. If we put that sentence on this site, it would simply be a lie.

And here's the thing about the people we built this for: they can tell. The people who organise rugby tournaments in Malaysia are teachers, club secretaries, and ex-players who run real events with real money and their own reputation on the line. They have sat through vendor pitches before. A made-up quote from a made-up tournament director convinces nobody who has actually directed a tournament. Worse — if a platform is willing to lie about who uses it, why would you believe anything else it says?

We understand why it happens. A new product with zero users faces a cold-start problem: nobody wants to be first, so platforms manufacture the appearance of a crowd. It usually works just well enough to be tempting. But it builds the relationship on a false premise — and a tournament is exactly the kind of thing where trust matters, because you're handing a platform your fixtures, your team entries, and your match day.

What we show you instead

A working sample tournament. It has a full fixture list, scores, standings, top scorers, and team pages — everything your own event page would have. Every screen of it is marked with the words "Sample data", because that's what it is. Instead of asking you to trust a quote, we let you inspect the product itself: click through the fixtures, check how tie-breakers are displayed, see exactly what your spectators would see.

That's the trade we're offering. Fake testimonials ask for your trust. Sample data lets you verify.

What we actually have

• A working product: fixture generation, team entry and approvals, live scoring, automatic standings, and public event pages.
• Public pricing with no surprises: free for tournaments up to 8 teams, RM100 only when you approve a 9th.
• Step-by-step guides that document every screen — written by us, the team, not by invented "practitioners".

What we don't have (yet)

• Organizers to quote. Nobody outside our own testing has completed a tournament on Skrammm yet.
• Logos, case studies, or press mentions.
• A community. That comes after the first real tournaments, not before.

We could have waited until those existed and then pretended they had been there all along. We'd rather write this post.

What happens when we do have real users

When real tournaments have run on Skrammm, the testimonials that appear here will be dated, named with permission, and linked to the actual public tournament pages they came from — so you can check them the same way you can check the sample data today. If a quote ever appears on this site that you can't verify, hold us to this post.
