Rugby tournament formats in Malaysia

Most Malaysian tournaments run one of three formats, and the right one is mostly a question of squad depth and daylight. Skrammm handles the draw, scoring and standings for all three.

Sevens (7s)

Seven players, seven-minute halves — the format of school festivals and one-day carnivals, where 16 teams can finish a whole tournament between morning and dusk.

How the draw works

Tens (10s)

Ten a side with ten-minute halves — the middle ground clubs pick when they want real set-piece contests but still need several matches per day.

Setting up a tournament

Fifteens (15s)

The full game. Fewer matches fit in a day, so 15s tournaments usually run as multi-weekend cups — standings and tie-breakers matter even more.

How standings are computed

Whichever format you run, spectators get the same thing: one public page with live scores. See how live scoring works
