Fixture generation and draw management

Once you approve your team list, Skrammm generates the complete fixture schedule automatically. You choose the structure — group stage only, group stage + knockout, or pool play + finals — and the system does the rest.

No manual seeding, no spreadsheet formulas. The draw is balanced so no team plays twice in a row on the same pitch.

For 7s tournaments, the typical structure is round-robin groups followed by knockout rounds:

→ 8 teams: 2 groups of 4, top 2 advance to semis → 12 teams: 3 groups of 4, top 2 + 2 best runners-up advance to quarters → 16 teams: 4 groups of 4, top 2 advance to quarters → 24 teams: 4 groups of 6, or 6 groups of 4

You can customise the group count and size before generating the draw.

Knockout brackets are generated automatically from group-stage results. The system:

→ Seeds teams by group position and points → Avoids same-group rematches in the quarter-finals where possible → Populates the bracket live as group matches complete

You don't need to manually update the bracket — it fills in as scores are entered.

For large tournaments with multiple pitches, Skrammm distributes matches across pitches to minimise gaps and ensure every pitch is active throughout the day.

You set the number of pitches and the match duration (including changeover time), and the scheduler generates a timetable that respects rest windows between matches for each team.

After generating, you can:

→ Swap individual fixtures between time slots → Move a match to a different pitch → Add a gap (e.g. for a ceremony or prayer break) → Regenerate the entire draw if teams drop out before the event

Once matches start, the draw is locked — scores are tied to specific fixtures.
